ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Born March 18, 1826 in London as son of G. R.
Lewis. His main genre was landscapes, architectural, canals, rivers, lakes,
farms, cathedrals and children. Most of his works can be seen in major museums
all over the world, however, especially in the U.K. and Australia. He died in

DIMENSIONS: 25 1/4 inches (4.5 cm) long and 14 1/2 inches (almost 61 cm) wide with
frame; 17 1/2 inches (44.5 cm long and 6 3/4 inches (17 cm) wide the watercolor
in the mat.
AGE: dated 1905 PROVENANCE: Acquired
several years ago from the renowned German auction house Rostahl near
Dusseldorf. CONDITION: Good. No repairs, chips, bends, dents, dings or
whatsoever.
